We’re roughly six months into this journey across America, and Betsy has been putting in the miles! Just two weeks after completing her first 40-mile run, she tackled two back-to-back 25-mile runs, bringing her weekly total to an impressive 76 miles! Her drive remains unshaken.
During her first 40-mile run, Betsy decided to forgo music and podcasts, choosing instead to immerse herself in the experience. She approached her 25-mile runs with the same mindset. When asked about her thoughts during those long hours, she mentioned marveling at how large the ravens are here in Flagstaff. She even joked about challenging two Olympic-looking runners to a race when she stopped to refill her water.
To pass the time, Betsy focuses on reaching short-term destinations, continuously setting new goals as she achieves them. Overall, the training portion of this journey seems to be going incredibly well!
To better promote the run, we have teamed up with Jake Page of Midtown Media, located here in Flagstaff. Jake has shown a genuine interest in helping share Betsy's journey. Along with some amazing video clips he has put together, he is also working with us on crafting a documentary. We are extremely grateful for his talent, insight, and down-to-earth demeanor. Jake himself has an impressive startup story for his company, which can be found here.
Betsy is also slated to be interviewed by Matt Fitzgerald on "Dream Run Camp Live" on September 12th. We’ll share more details on how to watch the event as the date approaches, and I will likely send out an email reminder to those signed up. If you'd like a reminder, you can sign up on the "My Journey" page.
Until next time...
That is awesome about the media opportunities!
